Heavenly Threads, located next to the church on Elm Street, is our thrift shop selling gently used clothing and household items. All profits are donated to area nonprofit organizations. It is open Tuesday through Friday 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. and on Saturday from 10 a.m. to noon. May through mid-October we are also open on Mondays. Be part of this ministry by donating items, volunteering your time, and shopping at Heavenly Threads. More information here.
The SOS Room is open on Tuesdays from 9 to 11 a.m and Thursdays, 6–8 p.m. to provide free clothing to needy families. It is located to the rear of the Heavenly Threads building. Parking is available in the church lot.
Shields Mission Project was established as an outreach ministry of the church, the Shields Mission Project provides assistance to individuals and families in Knox County who are in financial crisis. As a referral-based program, we work with many Knox County social service organizations/case managers who are advocating for individuals in need of financial assistance. More information here.
Soup’s On! A free soup lunch is prepared and served here at the church by volunteers each Wednesday at noon from October through March. 2019 is the15th year of providing this service to our community. Our guests have the choice of either a meat or vegetable soup prepared right in our kitchen, fresh bread and a homemade dessert. Guest musicians entertain us before and after the meal.
Camden Area Christian Food Pantry is an all-volunteer organization supported by our church and 4 other area churches. It is located at 128 Mt. Battie Street, Camden and is open on Tuesdays, 8 – 11 a.m. and on Thursdays, 4 – 6 p.m.
Thanksgiving Baskets and Christmas Dove Tree Donations are collected and given to needy families. We work in concert with Camden/Rockport schools to determine recipients.
Thanksgiving Dinner welcomes anyone in the community to a lovely holiday meal (no cost, donations accepted). Please call the church office for date and time and to reserve a place at the table.
Prayer Chain Individuals are held in prayer by a large group of volunteers who communicate through email on a strictly confidential basis. For more information please contact the church office.
Prayer Shawl Knitting Volunteer knitters create and distribute prayer shawls to anyone in need of comfort and prayer while our prayer shawl "angels” provide funding for the yarn we use. Over 650 of our shawls have found homes from the mid-coast to the west coast and across the globe. For more information call the church office.
