Heavenly Threads
Thrift Shop, an outreach mission of the First Congregational Church U.C.C. of
Camden, has been collecting change from customers for the last few months.
The
"jar money", located at the shop’s front register, is designated for
local non-profit organizations.
Beth Gerrish, assistant manager of
the shop, explained that the recently tabulated donations were sent to The
Landing Place ($160), One Less Worry ($160), and the Parent Program of
Mid-Coast Maine ($120). "Every little bit helps, and we are
so appreciative of the generosity
of our loyal customers, especially during
these difficult COVID times,” she commented.
The thrift shop offers a broad variety
of gently-used treasures, including: clothing for the entire family, shoes,
belts and scarves; jewelry; household items; collectables; curtains;
kitchenware; glassware; knick-knacks; books; vintage wear; crafts and games; and
much more.
Net profits from Heavenly Threads’
operations have provided assistance to many local non-profits over the last 27
years, including: Area Interfaith Outreach, Big Brothers/Big Sisters of
Mid-Maine, Camden Area District Nursing, Knox County Homeless Coalition, The
Landing Place, Knox County Health Clinic, Mid-Coast Recovery Coalition, New
