When you join the church you become a voting member, able to vote on the annual budget and other items that come before the congregation for consideration. You will be invited to participate fully in the life of the church in as many ways as interest you.
But membership is about much more than voting and serving on committees. It is, more importantly, about creating a covenant with God and with others in the church that the First Congregational Church is now your spiritual home and that you desire to become part of this church family.
Here at the First Congregational Church anyone interested in becoming a member has an opportunity to attend an orientation session that serves not only to provide information about our UCC denomination and our local church but also to explore our own faith journeys and to ask questions of both the clergy and church members.
The following Sunday those interested in making the membership commitment will be welcomed into the church family during Sunday morning service.
Is this a church that you could be part of?
If you are ready to join, or if you would like to explore the idea further, please do not hesitate to contact our minister or the church office. We would all love to explore the idea further with you.
