The Heavenly Threads Thrift Shop

Heavenly Threads Thrift Shop is a ministry of the First Congregational Church that supports the community through the sale of donated quality clothing and home goods. Entirely dependent on donations, Heavenly Threads turns those gifts into tangible support for others. After operating expenses, including staffing and shop costs, proceeds are shared with the community and local nonprofit organizations through the Church’s Outreach Committee.

Whether the goods you donate make their way to Heavenly Threads Thrift Shop or the SOS Room, be assured that everyone who comes in is treated in the same compassionate, caring, and non-judgmental way. All are welcome here.

How are proceeds used?

After operating expenses, Heavenly Threads sales proceeds are used to help people in three ways: First, proceeds help fill the Shields Fund and pay the salary of a social worker to help residents in Knox County and Lincolnville running behind on utilities and other needs. Second, we donate funds to over a dozen community nonprofits. Third, what we don’t sell is available for free every Tuesday morning at the SOS shop right next door.
